As a representant of the melodic metal music genre ARKADIA from Alavus, Finland has since its birth in spring 2003 made music in its own terms, but its musicians are not denying the influence of such bands as Sentenced, Iron Maiden, Children of Bodom, Paradise Lost, In Flames and Katatonia onto their style of play.

ARKADIA has made three demos on the consecutive years 2003, 2004 and 2005. They represent the more-and-more confident and metallic sound of Arkadia. In July 2007 the band released an EP titled “Circle of Distress”. ARKADIA has also made roughly 20 gigs between the years 2003 and 2008 mostly in the region of Western Finland in small rock festivals and bars.

During the fall 2008 the band will be concentrating on recording five new metal pieces. These songs will be published in early 2009 in the form of an EP called A DROP FOR THE PAST. This EP will be an honest theme record. Within these songs agony turns into fury and further on to silent sorrow. When everything turns to sand there’s no other choice but to let it all go.

There are bands that play cover songs. There are bands that have lots of technical skill but no musical imagination. There are artists whose only goal is to please their audience. ARKADIA is a band that has since its foundation started to create its own sound and style with own songs and texts, made possible by no changes in the line-up. ARKADIA is a band that is definitely worth getting to know to now.
